Lately

Long time no post!

Actually, a very long time.

I guess we have a lot to catch up on (although I don't have much interesting to share). Where to begin...
  • High school: check. I've wrapped up my second semester neatly. Now, I'm totally ready to move on to the next adventure in store: college. It's taken me alllll of senior year, but it's hit me. I'm finally, genuinely excited to head to university this fall. It'll be good for me too meet new people; not that my high school friends were necessarily bad, but they aren't very good for hanging out or having fun with.
  • I'm in love. Yep, as corny, cliched, and teenager-y as it sounds, it feels legitimate.
  • And I still don't have a driver's license.
  • On that note, how many of you do?

Is it too late to share New Year's resolutions? And...

If by new year resolutions, you mean "same old list I very well may not complete again this year", then you're on the right track. It's feels good have dreams, and even better to achieve them, but come on...How often are these resolutions actually resolved. I'm guilty of this myself; year after year I would consistently create this litany of things I would love to do (travel abroad, for instance). This would go on until I eventually just gave up--I'd let these lofty resolutions go to waste. I found it more effective to see these resolutions not as the typical New Year's Day fare. I created my goals as the year progressed. This year, I'll share my resolutions I've come up with as-of-yet here.

Oh my goodness, I'm going to make another list. I've done this for the last few entries. I am so sorry. But not sorry enough to stop.
  1. Read more. A lot of people I know just don't read, and I'd like to change that within myself.
  2. Clear up all of my clutter, both concrete and personal. I'm a very messy person. You know you have a problem when you coughcough loseveryimportantletterspertainingtoyourcollegeeducation cough. Ahem. Moving on.
  3. Adventure! I would love to go outside and just myself--or just get lost. There's a new, emerging part of me that longs to go and see places with my friends, making new friends along the way.
  4. Be consistent. Any one of my very few readers will be able to attest to why I need to focus on this one. Yep.
That's all I could really think of. Shoot.

Well, that's just the thing about resolutions. Many of them rarely leave the metaphorical drawing board, left to collect dust and never come to fruition. Perhaps this year will be different. Perhaps I'll finally start setting and reaching goals. I can already tell you that in the few weeks since I've compiled the items on this list I've taken action in some of them. Maybe this year, I'll be able to carry everything out. Here's hoping!
